about it here.On me: Scottish, and have lived in Newcastle for over 25 years. My two handsome and funny boys are born Geordies so I need to keep the Scottish slang alive at home. Did you know there are many Scottish words for being tired? My boys do!On the gang: there are my two teenage sons, my partner Shaun and our two whippet dogs. The final one is our murderous cat Sheldon who is a fluffy ball of evil and terrorises the dogs shamefully.On work: I run a training company,
www.2macs.com, and manage actors so you don't have to. Actually, they're great and brilliant fun to work with.
On scribbling: I love to journal. It all started in earnest when Shaun and I went to the Galapagos for our joint 50th birthdays. I captured all the daft things as well as the big-ticket items like Shaun being bitten by a shark! It was a little baby but he's never forgiven me for laughing. As a diver, I used to clean out the shark tank at our local sea life centre and am pretty happy in their company.On books: I write in a journal most days, aiming to capture life in the margins, the funny little things that happen. The most interesting family photos aren’t the big holiday sights but are the 1974 Ford Cortina or the perm! I have lots of stories, funny little incidents and interesting takes on situations. I want to craft them all into new books and have lots of ideas. But for now I’ll keep journaling and see where it takes me.On dogs: Say hello to Arthur and Spike and follow their antics on Instagram.

Ration Challenge 2022
Hello!For the fourth year in a row, I'm taking part in the Ration Challenge in support of Concern Worldwide (UK). I want to tell you a little about what that entails, why I'm doing it, and how you can help.In a nutshell: for one week, I eat the same rations as a Syrian refugee living in a camp in Jordan.
My rations include a one-week supply of the same food, in the same quantities as those provided to Syrian refugees in urban refugee camps in Jordan. That's a small amount of rice, flour, lentils, beans, fish and oil. That's it! No coffee, no alcohol (!!) and very few nutrients.The money we raise will provide refugees with urgently needed food rations, medical care and education.This year more than ever we need to raise awareness and much needed funds to help people. People who have had to leave their homes and are now relying on us. Let's not fail them.
